Potato gratin with porcini in a glass dish

Instructions

  1. Step 1

Soak the dried porcini in warm water for about 20 minutes, squeeze them out and chop them roughly.

  2. Step 2

Peel the potatoes and slice them thinly, about 2 mm; a slicer or the food processor makes it quick.

  3. Step 3

Butter a baking dish and rub it with the cut garlic clove. Mix milk and cream with salt, pepper and a little nutmeg.

  4. Step 4

Layer the potato slices in the dish, scatter the porcini between and on top of the layers and pour the milk mixture over them.

  5. Step 5

Sprinkle with the cheese, cover the dish with aluminium foil and bake in the middle of the oven at 200 °C for about 30 minutes.

  6. Step 6

Remove the foil and bake for another 20 to 25 minutes until the potatoes are soft and the top is golden.

Let it rest for 5 minutes before cutting. A green salad goes well with it.
